RACHEL MCCURDY

Actor, singer and writer based in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

Rachel McCurdy is an NYU Tisch School of the Arts (BFA Drama) graduate with performance training in film/tv and theatre from Stonestreet Studios and Playwrights Horizons Theatre School. Her acting has been described as bold, vulnerable, and precise.

As a bright-eyed 5 year old, she discovered her love of musical theatre and playing guitar. She trained at the Arts Club, Arts Umbrella and Kay Meek Arts Conservatories and went on to perform in musicals such as Fame, A Chorus Line, and Cast Iron Lily (an original production for which she starred in and assisted in writing.) At the LeBlanc School of Acting, she trained in screen acting and shortly after, starred in a comical mockumentary style web series called The Classroom. She is inspired and motivated by life's intense, vulnerable and delicate moments.

As an artist who thrives in creation and exploration, during her senior year, she wrote and starred in two short films: Crunchy Dumpster and Long Lost. Other performance highlights include Nena, a short film in collaboration with Bryce Dallas Howard's production lab: Nine Muses, as well as an independent short film: The Devil Wears Fenty.
Upcoming projects that she will star in include the short film Hunt for Serenity and the comedy web series High Functioning by Samantha Brooks.

She adores exploring the city where she inhabits and seeks a world in which she can be inspired and learn from. In New York, it was picnics in central park and seeing local theatre productions, and in Vancouver, it is finding nature trails to explore with friends and family. She aims to visit more parts of the world like Greece and Switzerland to experience their cultures and return back to her favourite spot: The Amalfi Coast. She also aspires to visit distant relatives in Romania who share her mutual bloodline of being related to Dracula (don't be scared).
